Fabulous Foursome Shine

The 2016 USMS ePostal National Championships recently wrapped up and preliminary results have been posted.  There are 3 basic categories in these championships: the 1-Hour Postal (how far you swim in 1 hour), a 5K/10K swim for time, and a 3000/6000 yard Postal for time.

It is in this last category, specifically the 3000 Postal, where our fabulous “Centralia Four” in TWIM shined. Betsey Kassen, Tammy Koppelberger, Sarah Landrum, and Voni Oerman each placed in the top 10 nationally in their respective age groups.

Sarah nabbed 5th among 21 competitors, Betsey finished 6th out of 37, Tammy landed 8th out of 31, and Voni touched with a time that would put her 9th out of 52 competitors. Way to go, ladies!!!

In terms of distance covered in the 1-Hour Postal, Puget Sound Masters sits comfortably in 3rd place among the Medium-sized Clubs with 151,485 total yards swum.

Looking ahead to the 2017 season, the 1-Hour Postal events happen in January and – for the first time – in February as well. So, what are you waiting for? Start training! For more information, consult the 2017 Championships website.
