So see, 2020 wasn’t all bad! TWIM still managed to rock it. That’s the TWIM way.
Due to pool closures happening, most of us stopped swimming and tried to keep up our mojo by cross training. I say most because I’m sure a few of you, like myself, tried to continue swimming in open water or where ever there was a puddle.
I don’t know about the rest of you but it was tough. I lost endurance and the strength I worked so hard to achieve.
Coming back has been hard. The first time back in the pool, I felt weak and out of breath after a 50!
Now the Centralia pool is pretty much back to normal operations. However, our swimmers are scarce. One day I had 6 swimmers but most of the time it is just a couple of us.
So coming back is hard. Just ask Carl:

I think the hardest part about coming back to swimming is getting back into the routine of getting to the pool at zero dark hundred hours and jumping into a cold, wet pool. Let me tell you, though. It feels good to get in and stretch out. Start out slow. For the first week just get in and swim a 500. Then build up from there.
Let me give you a few sample sets that you can modify to fit your needs (see below).
Now let’s get to it!
See ya all real soon,
Coach Koppelberger
