The Fog Rolls In
TWIM Champion Steve Fogg that is, who continued his winning ways at the Oregon State Senior Games this last Sunday, which was held at the Osborn Aquatic Center in charming Corvallis.
Steve vied with 53 other swimmers, not only from Oregon but from Washington and California as well. By all reports Osborn is quite a nice facility. Mr. Fogg was very effusive about how well the meet was run and was grateful to the officials and volunteers, without whom there would be no meet. “Couldn’t do it without them”, opines the Fogg Master!
Steve had another morning of truly amazing swimming, made even more amazing by the fact that he swam both the 400 IM and the 500 free within a 3.5-hour period. For most mortals, that is truly astonishing, because we would require hours or days of recovery. For some just the mention of the 400 IM at any point during a lifetime can chill the blood.
Mr. Fogg took care of business that morning with 4 Blue Ribbons for first place in the following events. Also feel free to marvel at the times!
400 IM 6:43:23 First Place
50 Back 36.92 First Place
500 Free 7:08:74 First Place
100 Back 1:22:57 First Place
And this Guy is in the 70-74 Age Group!!! What gives?
Just for good measure Brother Coach Fogg took 3rd Place in the 50 free with a time of 33:48.
We’ll have to cut him some slack on this one because it still qualifies him for the National Senior Games Fort Lauderdale this spring in this event, to mention the other four!
Well done, Steve, and we are all so proud of you!
