That’s a wrap! Dan Underbrink highlights the action on this final day of Nationals in Federal Way.

I don’t know if I can truly convey how wonderful it has been to see TWIM competing in so many races at this Summer Nationals. This is absolutely Tom Walker’s dream come true! And you all do it with such graciousness, humbleness, and friendliness. This is truly the essence of competitive swimming. I know everyone there could feel just how special this meet was. There is nothing quite like seeing your swimming friends, giving their races the maximum effort!
How well did we do at this great Nationals meet? Well, today’s medal take puts TWIM at over 75 medals in five days of competition! Today’s swims included the 200 Backstroke, the Mixed 200 Free Relay, the 100 Breaststroke, the 50 Butterfly, the Women’s 200 Freestyle, and the Men’s 800 Freestyle.
Our 200 Backstrokers were Keri and Carl. Keri came away with a 4th place medal and Carl nabbed 6th!
The following took part in various heats of the Mixed 200 Free Relay: Graham, Guilherme, Keri, Ruben, Candace, Holly, and Dan. The following medals were awarded: Graham 8th, Guilherme 3rd, Ruben 6th, Candace 4th, Holly 6th, and Dan 8th.
So many of the TWIM squad went out for the 100 Breaststroke! We had Brent, Emily, Keri, Ruben, Carl, Kerry, Dave, Dan, and Bill. The following medals were received: Emily 10th, Keri 8th, Ruben 4th, Carl 4th, Dave 7th, and Bill 4th.
The 50 Butterfly attracted Guilherme (4th), Candace (3rd), Holly (9th), Atsuko (5th), Colleen (5th) and Dave.
The 200 Freestyle was swum by Atsuko and Colleen. Colleen received a 2nd place medal in the event!
The last TWIM competitor in the meet was Graham Anderson, who medalled 10th in the 800 Free!

That’s a wrap for the 2025 USMS Summer Nationals in Federal Way! TWIM, you were fantastic! So much fun spending pool time with all of you. The time has come to extinguish the TWIM Nationals torch, but it continues to burn brightly in TWIM hearts and minds!
