TWIM laid down another high octane performance as we conquered the Lake Washington Master Invitational Meet at Juanita Aquatic Center this past Sunday.
Thanks to Becca Watson and the LWM gang for hosting another great meet and to Linda Chapman for those instant results.
Leading off, Carl “MC” Haynie and Vince “V- Man” Carmosino not only set PNA records in their respective events but also achieved USMS National ranking!

At the meet MC set his record in the 100 back and Vince set his in the 50 Breast. Mr. Haynie is now ranked Number #1 nationally in the 100 and 200 back and 2nd in the 50!
Mr. Carmosino is ranked 2nd nationally in the 200 Breast, 3rd in the 100 Breast and 3rd in the 50!
We also have late breaking news. Maoz’s 100 free swim at the SCM Zone meet at KCAC in November has been recognized as an Israeli National Record in his age group! It took some shuttle diplomacy but they finally got it done!
Kudos to you gentlemen!!! Do you think they’ve heard of TWIM now?
Now let’s move on to the real aquatic accomplishments on Sunday… 🙂
TWIM racked up 177 total points, according to USMS rules. We had 27 swims, all performed with our impeccable determination!
I now unfold the Golden Scroll of Honor—–

Betsey “The Animal” Kassen had just another average day at the office, I mean pool- Although she’s about to age up, she showed us she’s not done with her current age group- logging her 2nd fastest 400 IM time there!
Jenny is on a big roll! Her Breaststroke swims were truly Poetry in Motion and she really nailed the 200! No tapering before the meet for this Wild Woman, just another day at work 🙂
Energizer Kathy powered her way through all the Freestyle events save the 50 and looked awesome doing it.

She finished off the day by absolutely hammering her 500 free. She was just getting warmed up at that point and wanted to go on swimming but the meet was over and we had to pull her out of the pool, over her strong protests!
Coach Brian was a power rocket of the first magnitude and did personal bests in the 50 Fly and 100 IM. NEWS FLASH- He beat Mr. Haynie in the 50 Fly!
Father Tom, The Swimming Priest, brought his aquatic will power to bear on his first ever 500 free and swam very well, as usual!
Maoz was battling a shoulder ailment but he still managed super performances in the 50 and 100 Free, which he blew away!

Your COB took 20 seconds off his 400 IM and as MC said “.. Your 400 IM is your fastest time in nearly two years from what I can tell. Nice! ”
It must be Be kind to the Elderly week!

Up with TWIM and the TWIM Way!
