The TWIM power wave stormed through Olympia on Saturday as we offered up another stellar and truly sizzling aquatic statement!
That’s the TWIM Way.

Valerie Powell of the Swimming Powells was our All- Star once again as she obliterated her seed times in the 100 Free, the 50 Free and the 50 Back. When I say obliteration, I’m talking 9 seconds off the 100 Free, 4 seconds in the 50 Free, and 5 seconds in the 50 Back. Wow!

Meanwhile her dad, Frankie “The Rocket” Powell was shaving a second off his very fast 200 Back time. Frankie wanted to make sure he knew how to swim so he finished off the day with an amazing performance in the 400 IM!!!

Father Tom Fritschen, “The Swimming Priest” totally destroyed his 100 Free seed time by 7 seconds! Not content with that sort of lightweight accomplishment, Tom went on to beat his seed time in the 50 Free by hundredths of a second. He pulled off the same alchemy in the 50 Back by easing in nine tenths of a second under his seed time!

“In the beginning there was Haynie” Yes, our beloved Carl B. Haynie did his Haynie Magic again and nonchalantly whipped out sensational performances and bettered his seed times in the 50 breast and the 50 fly. His 50 breast was a modern Haynie record and that, as you know, is really saying something.
Unfortunately Betsey “The Machine” Kassen was ill on Saturday and, believe me, it takes a train to slow her down! She promises to be with us again in April and kill it!
Your COB did what he could and did it right there and then…[edit: Mr. Thomas W. Walker crushed his events as usual and was a fixture behind the blocks cheering everyone of us on!]

Now it’s on to the PNA Champs on Saturday April 9th and Sunday April 10 at the gorgeous King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way!
Battle stations everyone!!!
