Last Gasp of Summer – or should it have been called First Gasp of Winter? – is in the books for 2016! At the very least, it felt like Fall was in the air when Kathy Pelham and Zena Courtney both took to the open water last Saturday at Angle Lake in SeaTac.
Part-time TWIMMER, Zena, competed in the 2 Mile Wetsuit event for her home team, Blue Wave Aquatics. Blue Wave did an outstanding job hosting LGOS this year!
Meanwhile, Kathy raced in the 2 Mile Non-Wetsuit (brr!) for Puget Sound Masters. Talk about bravery on an overcast, cool morning!
Kathy finished 9th overall (2nd in her age group) in the non-wetsuit race with a great time of 52:12.1!!
Zena, meanwhile, needs to be congratulated as she set a new LGOS 2 Mile Wetsuit record for her age group with a time of 52:26.2!!
