Seven TWIM swimmers swam like there was no tomorrow as we descended upon the 15th annual BAMFest masters meet on Bainbridge Island last Saturday morning. The meet was a glorious one as always because it was run so well, and Bainbridge Aquatic Masters (BAM) gave us such a friendly welcome.
Kathy “The Energizer” Pelham, Tom “FT” Fritschen, Betsey “The Animal” Kassen, Carl “MC” Haynie, Brian “Coach Z” Guillen, yours truly, and our newest swimmer, Christian Bruhn, were on hand for the festivities.
All 7 of us blew it away. A personal high for me was watching Coach Z in a Battle Royale with the legendary Charlotte Davis in the 100 IM, and he almost had her. It was won by a touch.
I’m so proud of what we all did yesterday because it exemplifies our Credo –
To get up on the blocks, anywhere and anytime, and give it our all-
