The 2016 Speedo USMS 3000/6000-Yard ePostal National Championships come to a close in just 3 weeks.
Four TWIMmers recently conquered the 3000 distance at Thorbecke’s pool in Centralia.
Tom Fritschen, Betsey Kassen, Tammy Koppelberger, and our newest TWIMmer Sarah Landrum each swam 3000 meters last weekend with awesome results. Meter swimmers have to convert their times to yards afterwards and, if it was up to me, they would get to take off even more seconds for swimming farther than the rest!
Tammy took almost 45 seconds off her time from last year! And she accomplished this after having to share the lane for a time with some recreational interlopers!
Betsey, who placed 6th nationally in her age group last year, swam faster this year by about 5 seconds. She just gets better with age!
Tom swam it mostly backstroke for the 2nd year in a row and also took off time. Show off!
Sarah swam it for the first time in a blazing 42:16.83. As Postal organizer, Betsey, mentioned, she didn’t even look tired afterward!
