TWIM Aces the Bellevue Club Masters Mile!

Six intrepid TWIM Distance Warriors took on the Masters Mile at the Beautiful Bellevue Club this past Sunday and absolutely nailed it!
Thanks to the Bellevue Club and PNA Meet Director Sally Dillon for hosting a great inaugural edition of this event!
One of the highlights of the day was the Battle Royale between our newest member, Colleen Wahlstrom and Jenny Ferries, who swam in adjacent lanes in an awesome demonstration of aquatic prowess!
Colleen set a PNA age group record (40-44) and Jenny was second in the 35-39 age group by 9 hundredths of a second! Way to Rock It Ladies! And not bad for Colleen’s first meet as a TWIMmer!
Betsy “ The Machine” Kassen turned in her usual death defying performance and took first in her age group by four plus minutes! Count them… Four! Next to her was Dan “Paleo Man” Underbrink of the Swimming Underbrinks who took 20 plus seconds off his seed time!
We need to keep the TWIM Training Diet a secret!
Never to be outshone, Valerie Thompson and Father Tom Fritschen, “The Swimming Priest” also had fantastic swims! Val bettered her seed time by 2 minutes and Father Tom took a minute off his!
All in all another day of triumph for TWIM and mega kudos to everyone for swimming your hearts out in this most challenging of events!
Another high point of the day was when 70 year old Dan Kirkland of Lake Washington Masters set a World Age Group Record with a time of 19:52:89!!!
Looks like we all have homework to do!
