Dan Underbrink represented TWIM at the 31st annual Huntsman World Senior Games October 10-12, 2018. This was a great 3-day International competition that definitely needs more Northwest representation, and particularly more TWIM attendees! The only other PSM swimmers at this meet were Mary Underbrink and Frank Warner.
The competition was held at Sand Hollow Aquatic Center in St. George, Utah. The pool was an excellent facility – eight short course meter lanes – with another 3-lane warm-up pool adjacent. St. George was a great location/destination, with warm weather, lots of sights to see and activities to do, and a huge selection of quality restaurants. The Games comprised 30 sports and were attended by about 11,000 senior (age 50+) athletes. The town was able to absorb the huge influx of athletes and their families with seeming ease.

Dan swam a tough schedule, with events on all three days. Day one included a Bronze Medal in the 400 IM, and 4th place ribbons in the 200 Butterfly and the 400 Freestyle. Day two brought a Gold Medal in the 200 Breaststroke and a Bronze Medal (a PR! and 12-second improvement!) in the 800 Freestyle. Day three wrapped up the event with another Gold Medal in the 200 Backstroke and a Silver Medal in the 1500 Freestyle.

Way to represent us, Dan!!! Hail TWIM Long Live!
