Yes, 2020 has been a challenge of biblical proportions on almost every level for all of us and we have seen a huge impact on our ability to do what we all love, as pools have been shuttered across America. At this writing several local pools have been reopening on a modified basis, so hopefully most of you are getting those all- important workouts done!
Yes, 202O has been a challenge even for the Bravest among us, but that’s who we are, the Brave.
It is the spirit that lives within us all and that has brought us together in this wonderful family of talented swimmers and in this moment in time.
Yes, we are swimmers, but we are also truly a Family and whenever we gather the TWIM magic always starts to shine ! It must be infectious….
It seems so long ago now that Betsey, Carl and I sat outside the Briggs YMCA after a meet and had a conversation which led to the birth of this glorious experience we call TWIM.
The three of us had developed a friendship over several years on many different pool decks and at many, many meets, so this was an idea that had been germinating inside us for quite some time and one day we just formalized it.
To all of you who have joined us along the way and continue to join us, Thanks and Welcome! We’re just getting started!
I am grateful and honored to be in the company of such gifted swimmers and such outstanding individuals.
We will write our future together, and judging by what we’ve done so far, it’s going to be better than ever.
