Fogg Rocks it at Nationals!

Newly minted TWIMmer Steve Fogg blew it all away at the 2021 Short Course National Championship, which took place at the gorgeous space age pool in Greensboro, North Carolina this past weekend (actually Thursday through Sunday)!

He was joined there by 5 other Puget Sound Masters, namely Morena Calvo, Gerald Cermak, Erik Petersen, Steve Peterson, and Frank Warner, all of whom performed superbly as well!

Our man, Mr. Fogg, powered his way to five Top 10 Swims out of 5 swims in the 70-74 age group!

He swam the 500 free in a blazing 7:00:35, dropping 5.38 seconds off his seed time and securing a 3rd place ranking.

Never one to rest on his laurels, on the very next day he went truly wild with a 6:36:73 in the dreaded 400 IM, an event which curdles the blood of mere mortals.

Didn’t seem to slow down the Fogg though, as he sliced off 15.76 seconds and racked up a 4th Place in that event! Yes, you heard it right, 15 seconds!

We all need to find out what Steve is eating for breakfast!

He went on to clock a 35.61 in the 50 Back, peeling off another .27 seconds and placing 6th.

Then just for good measure he let loose with a 200 IM in 3:03:31, to medal with a 7th Place.

He finally blazed his way out of town with a 1:19:88 performance in the 100 Back, shedding 2.09 seconds garnering an 8th.

Yes, 5 out of 5! Where I come from that’s known as a good batting average!

So congratulations, Steve, and delighted to have you with us!

By the way, what are you doing for an encore?
