TWIM member and Race Director, Zena Courtney, is looking for TWIM participation and/or FINISH AREA VOLUNTEERS for the next Swim Defiance event across Dalco Passage between Owen Beach to Vashon Island on Sunday, June 26, 2016. Volunteer show time is 7:15AM
Just reply to zenacourtney@hotmail.com and she will send out more detailed volunteer instructions closer to the race. Race details/registration at SwimDefiance.com. Anyone that swims at least 3x/week can accomplish this swim (Zena adds: “didn’t fellow TWIMster, Vince, just get a new business suit/a.k.a. wetsuit???!!!”).
Bring a power boat or 2 kayakers and your entry fee is reimbursed.
All volunteers will receive $5 in Taste of Tacoma Taste Bucks to use at the TASTE OF TACOMA going on the same day nearby at the Rose Garden/tennis court area. There will also be a free drawing for all volunteers and competitors while waiting for results, that includes a $250 Fastenal tools gift bag, OVER 50 color coordinated miscellaneous prizes AND a jellyfish themed WAY COOL tech shirt designed by a fellow swimmer! We would love to have you! We also provide refreshments at the race start/ end.
