Number One was the order of the day for TWIM on Sunday February 17th at the 2019 Lake Washington Masters Invitational!

Yes, the TWIM Posse, comprised of Jenny Ferries, Dan Underbrink, Vince Carmosino, Carl Haynie and yours truly, rode, or rather swam, into town and kicked it hard at this venerable location and this traditional classic of a meet!

Thanks to our gracious hosts, the Lake Washington Masters and to Meet Director Linda Chapman and her trusty sidekick Dick Chapman, our Meet Referee.

Sadly Mr. Scott Neuhaus, our Partner-In-TWIM, called in ill but will return pronto and be back on deck before you know it!

And now for the Roll Call of Champions:

Jenny took on a modest event schedule- only the 400 IM, the 50 Breast, the 100 Breast and the 200 Breast! And of course she took First Place in all of her races and looked great doing it!

Dan “The Animal” Underbrink also went easy by undertaking the 400IM, the 100 Breast, the 200 Breast and just for good measure, the 500 Free! He took First Place in the first three events with sizzling times and nailed 2nd Place in the 500!

Vince “V-Man” Carmosino turned in first place performances in everything he swam which included the 50 and 100 breast as well as the 50 Free. Look out Spring Nationals. He is going to be unbeatable in a couple months!

Carl “MC” Haynie turned in his usual jaw-dropping performance with First Place swims in the 50, 100 and 200 Back and believe me, dear reader, he was his Spectacular self. He made it all look so very easy and he was a pool length ahead of everyone in his 200 back! I’d call him for Sandbagging, but after all, it was the last heat!

And last and most definitely least was moi, Thomas W. Walker, your beloved COB. I swam the 50, 100 and 200 Breast and beat all my nationals times, managing to pick up two Firsts and a Third. For comic relief I swam the 200 IM at the end and actually managed to drop gobs of time-

So all in all, not a bad day at the pool for TWIM!

Stay tuned!
